Tea Party with Mom!

With Mother’s Day around the corner, this year, we should turn it up a notch and go classy, the royal style with a modern twist. Afterall, our Mothers are queens and should be treated as such. Whether you want it to intimidate for just your and mom, or for your mom and your siblings, or even go all out and throw a tea party, with an elegant tea party you never go wrong. Today we going to give you some tips on how to throw an elegant intimate tea party for your mother on Mother’s Day.

To make it cozy, select an intimate corner in your home to spend the next couple of hours treating your mother. Or if you have a garden and its if there is god weather, this is the perfect spot! A good and perfect tablespace. Always sets up the whole mood the afternoon. Combine your surroundings, with make sure it matches your tablespace to create a certain ambiance. For instance, if it’s in the garden, you would go for a floral table cloth with nice fresh flowers or roses on top. Here you need to be creative, dazzle your guest with nice. For this type of occasion, pull out that special expensive chinaware. Because of the setup, make sure your table is big enough for all your chinaware and food presentation. Don’t forget your guest/guests must be able to sit comfortably with ample space.

Put a bit of schedule and sophistication of your plan for the day, some would even go all out and make a special menu for her.

If she coming from somewhere, begin with an arrival drink or palate cleanser. Our Morgentau tea does this best . This is green sencha tea with subtleness of mango and citruses. This will definitely set a good tone for the Mother’s day treat.

The Menu

As it’s a tea party, our menu is mostly filled with sweet and savoury bites. Offer a variety of tea flavours, to do a tea and food pairing while enjoying for food. You get to taste the food and compare with the tea and decide which one is the winner. However always make sure a selection of classic teas such as English breakfast or Earl Grey are definitely in this flavour mix. The great thing about afternoon teas to look forward to, is the experimenting and pairing different types of teas and foods. You can get a couple of unorthodox options and preferences during this exercise lols, It’s all about fun.

Here is a couple of examples and ideas of the classic treats we recommend on your menu:

· Sandwiches - Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese, Egg Mayonnaise & Cress, Chicken & Mayonnaise, Beef & Horseradish, Ham & Mustard , Cheese & Chutney, Cucumber & Cream Cheese

· Scones – With scones, you can really go wild, from your classic English scones, to your Banana and lavender Scones, Spring onion and bacon scones, Raspberry Almond Buttermilk Scones, Lemon Blueberry Scones Caramel Apple and Cinnamon Scones, the list goes on.

· Cakes - Mix different types of cakes with other small treats like macaroons, small doughnut, short cakes etc.

When eating, always start with the sandwiches before moving on to the sweeter treats. We would recommend the ‘mini tea couture’ collection or the ‘Try me box JOT’. They have a great variety which can be used for tea taste and tea and food pairing at tea parties. Remember, it’s not so strict, you can throw in a bit of bubbly as well, a Prosecco will fit the occasion. It’s something affordable, but unique and tastes great.

This day is all about having fun and treating your mother like a queen so remember, her wish is your command for this day.

Happy Mother’s day!
