This is one of the best summer beverages to make. The beauty is no fancy gear needed to make this. It’s easy to make, and it tastes so nice. With Cold brew you can adjust the coffee concentration to your desired taste so there is no specific measurement.
Cold brewed coffee can be served iced or hot, yes……. some people still want it hot.
Below is our recipe for cold brew:
Ingredients:
· 1 cup whole coffee beans
3 cups water
Milk (optional)
Instructions:
1. Grind the coffee beans on a medium to coarse grind size gives the best cold brew. These grounds should look like coarse cornmeal. This gives us the ability to enjoy cold brew without bitterness but with natural hints of sweetness.
2. Place the ground coffee in a large pitcher or mason jar or something similar. Add the water, then Stir gently to make sure the grounds are thoroughly saturated with water. Cover and set aside for 12 to 24 hours at room temperature. A tip would be leave it overnight.
3. Wet a cheesecloth or flour sack cloth or coffee paper filter. Line a small strainer with cheesecloth or flour sack cloth and place over a large measuring cup or bowl. Strain the coffee through the filter to separate the coffee grounds with the cold brew.
4. If the coffee tastes stronger than you desire, dilute it with water or use milk until your desired taste.
Please keep the coffee in an airtight container away from the light or in a fridge. The beverage can be served with or without ice.
