Boozy Winter Warmers!

This is not a blog that first tells you about my grandmothers trip to the Bahamas and her run in with a local cop who gave her the recipe before we dive in. To the point, here are our best, most favorite and/hotly requested Winter Warmers (these are not for the kids folks!)





Irish Coffee


Ingredients:

· 2 teaspoons of brown sugar (or to taste)

· 120ml strong hot coffee

· 45ml Irish whiskey

· 30ml heavy cream, lightly whipped



Directions:

1. Warm your Latte Glass

2. Put two sugar sticks in the glass

3. Pour your americano in the latte glass

4. Pour the whisky in the latte glass

5. Mix and stir until sugar dissolves

6. Top up with whipped cream making it perfectly layered

7. Garnish with either chocolate sprinkles or cinnamon sprinkles or coffee beans.



Hot White Russian


Ingredients:

  • 30 ml espresso

  • 60 ml Kahlua

  • 30 ml vodka

  • 90 ml heavy cream

  • Cubed ice


Directions:

1. Pull a shot of your Hausbrandt espresso.

2. Gently combine the espresso, Kahlua and vodka in a cocktail shaker.

3. Pour the mix into a lowball glass.

4. Top up with ice.

5. Layer the top with Cream and garnish with chocolate


Amarula Espresso Martini


Ingredients:


  • 30ml Amarula

  • 100ml Americano

  • 60ml heavy cream

  • 1 teaspoon Brown sugar

  • One spoon of chocolate powder (garnish)


Directions:


1. Brew an Americano into glass with the sugar in.

2. Add 30ml Amarula

3. Top up with heavy Cream

4. Garnish with Chocolate powder or three coffee beans.


Mochachino


Ingredients:

  • Double shot Hausbrandt espresso

  • A spoon of choco-la hot chocolate powder

  • 250 ml milk


Directions:

1. Pour one spoon of choco-la powder into cup

2. Pull a double shot of Hausbrandt espresso into the same cup and stir the espresso and coco powder together.

3. Froth the milk using a steamer and pour into the espresso.



Dirty Chai


Ingredients:

  • Cardamon

  • Cinnamon Sticks

  • Sugar

  • Coffee


Directions:


1. Put 1 pinch of cinnamon into the double portafilter base

2. Add seeds from 3 cardamon pods into the portafilter base

3. Put a double shot into the portafilter and tamp evenly.

4. Pull a double Hausbrandt espresso

5. Make latte and enjoy


Masala Secret


Ingredients:

  • Ronnefeldt Masala Chai tea

  • 2 Cinnamon sticks

  • 50 ml Vanilla Syrup

  • 2 tsp brown sugar/honey


Directions:

1 Brew the chai together with one cinnamon stick and vanilla and sugar with boiling water.

2 Steep for 5 minutes

3 Remove Cinnamon stick

4 Serve tea with cinnamon stick in the teacup for garnish as an option.

(those who prefer an alcohol variation can add a shot of brown rum)



Ginger Swing


Ingredients:

· Ayurveda Herbs & Ginger / Sweet Ginger

· 40ml brown rum

· 20ml ginger syrup

· 20ml lime juice

· 2 slices of ginger


Directions:

1 Brew and steep the Ayurveda Herbs & Ginger tea for 5 mins.

2 Mix well with the rum, ginger syrup and lime juice

3 Decorate with ginger and serve



Hot Toddy


Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of Earl Grey

  • 30ml whiskey

  • 2 to 3 teaspoons honey, to taste

  • 2 to 3 teaspoons lemon juice, to taste

  • 1 lemon round for garnish

  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional, for garnish)

Directions:

  1. Brew Earl Grey in a teapot and steep for 3 mins

  2. Add the whiskey, 2 teaspoons honey and squeeze half a lemon

  3. Pour hot tea over the mixer and Stir until the honey has disappeared into the tea. (according to your preference, taste, and add 1 teaspoon honey for more sweetness, and/or 1 teaspoon more lemon juice for more zing.

  4. Garnish with a lemon round and cinnamon stick (if using). Enjoy!



Hot Punch


Ingredients:


· Earl Grey

· Red Berries

· Ginger syrup

· Lemon


Directions:


1 Brew 1 bag of earl grey, 2 bags of red berries for 3 mins

2 Remove teabags and add ginger syrup/ ginger

3 Add lemon to garnish

(For an alcohol variation, add a shot of vodka)
